There are many areas of garden at Au Compte. Open, near the pool, where there's plenty of space for football, cricket, badminton and there's a croquet court. It's a tranquil spot - glow-worms, stick insects, praying mantis, lots of birds, red squirrels - you might even see the european dormouse, which the Romans bred to eat! Overhead you'll see many birds of prey - a pair of binoculars is really useful.
The night sky is amazing because there is no light pollution at all. You can sit on your deck well into the early hours enjoying the peace and quiet with a bottle or two of wine - usually in just the lightest of clothes as it rarely drops below 20C.
